The Story Behind 7Bees Pinot Noir

7Bees is a wine born from a passion and love of great wine. During our first harvest, my son Mason and I harvested 1200 pounds of incredibly ripe grapes under a bright sun. A generous colleague offered us block 7, row B, where the heat of the day and sweetness of the grapes attracted a lively buzz of bees. That day, amidst the friendly competition with those bees, the name '7Bees' was born. This is a truly limited single vineyard wine, with fewer than 600 bottles crafted.

Finish

Harvested by night in the cool Santa Lucia Highlands at 24° Brix, the grapes went through a three-day cold soak and were fermented with 25% whole clusters. The 2025 then aged for 12 months in 225-liter French oak barrels from Tonnellerie Sirugue in Nuits-Saint-Georges, 25% of them new. The finished wine is 13.4% ABV with a pH of 3.5.

This wine is ruby red and has a medium intensity with primary aromas and flavors of black cherry, blackberry, mulberry, cola, vanilla, clove, coriander, rose petals, and a touch of hibiscus.

The 2025 has a lengthy finish on the pallet (medium +) that is supported by the mid-range tannins and medium +
